In the context of Arab cultural convergence, which constitutes a natural extension of high-level diplomatic work, His Excellency the Algerian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Kamal Bouchama, accepted the invitation extended to him by the poet and writer Dr. Nawal Al-Hiwar to participate in the cultural meeting organized by the Nawal Al-Hiwar Cultural Salon on the evening of Friday, June 13, 2025. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Tunisian Republic to Lebanon, Mr. Bouraoui Al-Imam, along with a group of writers, intellectuals, media professionals, and those interested in public affairs.
The meeting constituted a distinguished cultural occasion, combining poetry and diplomacy, opening the way for an emotional and objective dialogue on the common values that unite Arab peoples and establishing spaces for convergence that transcend current political considerations and embrace a broader cultural and human horizon. The meeting featured a presentation and discussion of Ambassador Kamal Bouchama's book, "Emir Abdelkader and the Algerians of the Levant," published by the Arab Writers Union. This academic work documents a crucial phase in shared Arab history and sheds light on the spiritual and historical relationship between Algeria and the Levant, through the biography of Emir Abdelkader Al-Jazaery and his venerable Sheikh Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi, both of whom rest in the soil of the Levant, witnesses to the unity of values, struggle, and destiny.
In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Nawal Al-Hiwar expressed her happiness at this cultural meeting, which combined thought and diplomacy. She emphasized that culture remains a unifying space that addresses the scars of politics and provides Arab-Arab dialogue with a sincere emotional dimension that reflects the depth of shared national belonging.
