On Monday morning, May 19, 2025, the Algerian Embassy in Lebanon commemorated the 69th anniversary of Student Day, a landmark in the national struggle. This day reflects the pioneering role of the student elite in supporting the liberation revolution and their conscious engagement in the battle for independence.
The commemoration ceremony was attended by diplomatic and local embassy staff, as well as Algerian students residing in Lebanon. The event was held under the theme "A Day of Gratitude for the Path of Loyalty and Construction," commemorating the great sacrifices made by Algerian students when they decided, on May 19, 1956, to leave their schools and join the ranks of the National Liberation Army.
The event opened with the raising of the national flag and the playing of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of our martyrs. His Excellency the Algerian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Kamal Bouchama, also delivered a speech on the occasion, in which he highlighted the symbolism of this glorious day and the profound meanings it holds in the process of building the national state, stressing the importance of consolidating historical memory in the conscience of rising generations, in a way that enhances national awareness and authentic belonging.
