In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the May 8, 1945 massacres, which falls on Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Algerian Embassy in Lebanon informs members of the Algerian community residing in Lebanon and Cyprus that it will celebrate this occasion by organizing an event at the Embassy in Beirut at 11:00 AM. The program of this event includes a number of activities, including raising the national flag and a speech by His Excellency Ambassador Kamel Bouchama, as well as a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs who fell during these bloody events, which history has immortalized as a symbol of resistance against French colonialism.
Accordingly, the Embassy is honored to invite Algerian citizens residing in Lebanon and Cyprus to attend this highly symbolic event.
